Boring journal entry about fan art

Sun Sep 6, 2009, 4:25 PM
Hello again my beloved watchers ...

Today I want to share with you some observations I made during last 3 months. Have you ever wondered why you dont have lot of favs? Answer is simple.
A: You dont have enough of watchers who fave your every piece.
B: You dont do fan art (Manga/Anime, Warhammer and video games are top 3)
C: You are drawing unpopular fan art. Start drawing Mr. T
D: You dont do fan art stuff. You too awesome for it.
E: You are not so famous Deviant.
F: You suck at drawing but you are awesome.
G: You dont do fan art stuff.

You probably had noticed that DA is full of manga drawings and etc. What is wrong with all kids drawing japanese funny characters with large eyes and oversized boobs. Hmmm. You say : He's manga hater!! Heretic!!!....No, but when I was a kid I was drawing knights, dinosaurs and other stuff. Few days ago I was watching Tv and there was a programme about camps in my country (you can go to jail for having and watching hentai here...not realy but its half true) where young people learn to draw manga.
Wait a sec, there is nothing wrong with those camps. I was wondering why it is so popular. More and more kids want to draw manga style. Some are good at it some sucks.

I turn on TV to watch some news and boom some commercials pop up. Guess what I see a hear? Annoying music and some magazine for kids about drawing Manga. C-C-C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!!!!!!!! Whats is wrong with those people, why not origami or calligraphy?

Fan art is cliché and I'm not affraid of using this word. That means: If you want to get lot of favs while not being popular here, you have to do only fan art cause its what mass likes. I recommend Warhammer 40k, anime and game characters. Also tag your new Deviation with lot of keywords (boobs, hot girl, lolcat, notporn all anime titles you can name etc.)
Fan art is like pop music, thats why I am listening to Drum and bass hahaha. Im going to watch some anime and finish my fan art. BTW - Fan art is nod bad but try being creative instead.

Hey wait...I forgot to mention that I am AWESOME and I had finished my master work about Ethic in journalism, defended it and graduated. Goodbye Uni, welcome real life...damn
Next year I'm going to try some art education, probably, but first I have to find a job.

PS cs4 problem and Alchemy

Mon Apr 6, 2009, 2:55 AM
Hey guys

Some time ago I instaled cs4, but I didnt used it for a while. Few days ago I started messing with program, instaled brushes and color wheels. The thing that cought my attention was lag of brush while using tablet, even mouse. I got new hardware 4 GB of Ram, 2.9 duo core and 512MB gfx card so come one. Pretty decent if you ask me.

I checked settings and increased memory usage and enabled Open GL support for ps, also updated drivers for my tablet and patched cs4 to 11.01 something. I cant see what is causing this brush lag. In cs2 I dont have this problem so I guess its cs4 problem. This issue is realy annoying and in effect I cant draw a line not getting mad. Responce of program for brush stroke is delayed and while you are finished with drawing a line, you can still see ps working on it. If i tried to make more sofisticated line with many angles- ps simply simpliffied curvy line into straight one. Of course I can still use cs2 but I realy like new look of cs4

I have heard that 32bit version of windows may be a problem.
My question to you is : Have you exerienced such lag while painting or using brush in cs4? Do you know what may cause it? How to fix it?

While not writing my master work I'm messing with Alchemy. If you havent heard of it its about time.

"Alchemy is an open drawing project aimed at exploring how we can sketch, draw, and create on computers in new ways. Alchemy isn’t software for creating finished artwork, but rather a sketching environment that focuses on the absolute initial stage of the creation process. Experimental in nature, Alchemy lets you brainstorm visually to explore an expanded range of ideas and possibilities in a serendipitous way". source - [link]

Break

Thu Apr 2, 2009, 2:32 PM
I am taking a longer break from graphic, drawing and digital painting. That should explain my absence here from quite some time. I am bit busy right now and dont have time to finish anything I had started. My lazyness caused me some trouble and now I got only 2 months to write my master work. Although if I find some time I may upload new things.
